• Stanbic Bank Property Finance provides financing solutions that aim to optimise the value in Property by seeking to meet the specific needs of its clients who develop or seek to own Property
• The Bank provides financing for the following Property types;
i) Commercial which includes Office space , Industrial space and Retail space
ii) Residential, specifically large scale (multi-unit) residential developments for sale.
The Stanbic Uganda Property Team is part of the Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking Team, enabling seamless access to other specialised financing areas to deliver appropriate financing solutions for the Bank’s clients. The Team enjoys the expertise of a specialist Property Finance Team based at the Standard Bank Head Office in Johhannesburg, South Africa.
• Stanbic Bank Uganda Property Finance’ s financing solutions are structured to meet its clients specific requirements and can be broadly categorised as:
i) Purchase of Property
ii) Refinance by way Equity Release or take out of existing facilities
(with other financial institutions)
iii) Development and Re-Development
• The financing required as a percentage of the total funding required depends on the Stanbic Bank’s assessment of the risk associated with the Property. Stanbic Bank normally funds senior debt (Loan Facility) of up to a level of between 60% to 70%* of the market value for Commercial Property.
*This is determined on a case to case basis.
• Stanbic Bank prefers that the Loan Facility is in the same currency as the currency of the cashflows (inflows) to be applied towards its repayment. Financing in Foreign Currency will however be ultimately determined by prevailing financial market conditions that impacting on the Bank’s position to grant Foreign Currency.
The Loan Facility period will vary depending on the specifics of the Property and the cashflows available to repay the Loan Facility. Typically, Stanbic Bank will finance upto a maximum period of seven years for Commercial Property.
